Abstract

Physical education is one area of learning in schools that has an important role The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of implementing the Automatic Bottle Filling and Closing Machine training kit based on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) in practical learning at Vocational High Schools (SMK). The method used in this research is an experiment with a type of quasi experimental design using a pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. This research was carried out at SMK Negeri 1 Pundong, Bantul. The experimental class is Class XI TITL A1 with a total of 16 students, while the control class is Class XI TITL B1 with a total of 16 students. The data collection technique used is a test, using an instrument in the form of test questions. The validity of the instrument is determined using face validity and content validity through expert judgment. Apart from that, the instrument in the form of test questions was tested regarding the level of difficulty and different abilities. Data were analyzed using the Mann Whitney and Wilcoxon non-parametric difference tests with a significance level of 0.05. The research results show that the application of the PLC-based automatic bottle filling and closing machine training kit in practical learning at vocational schools can effectively increase students’ competence in the cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains.
