The purposes of this research to find out the mapping and direction of future Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality development particularly in the education field in both Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta and Russian State Vocational Pedagogical University. The method used in this study consists of five steps: defining search keywords, initializing search results, refining search results, compiling preliminary data statistics, and analyzing data. The result shows that as many as 84 documents were refined from Scopus databases and visualized using Vosviewer. The cluster analysis shows the main research topics in the augmented reality and virtual reality field based on its unique association of the set of keywords within the cluster. Based on a review of keywords with less frequent occurrence, the report also suggests possible research areas for the future.
