Abstract

The 21st century cannot be separated from the digital era which has an impact on various areas of life, including education. 21st century education which emphasizes technology-based learning requires pre-service science teachers to master these competencies as pre-service educators, one of which is to create science learning tools. The integration of STEM in science learning tools helps students understand science concepts in a way that is more interesting, interactive, and relevant to real life. Digital literacy and STEM-based science learning tools complement and support each other in creating effective and meaningful science learning. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the digital literacy of pre-service teachers in making STEM-based science learning tools. This research method involves studying literature from international journals and other sources relevant to the research. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the digital literacy of Indonesian pre-service teachers was in the low category. This condition means that pre-service teachers are unable to create stem-based science learning tools to support science learning optimally. In conclusion, science learning tools that utilize various digital information sources can encourage student activeness, train students to think critically, creatively, and solve problems so that they can realize meaningful science learning.
