- Abstract
With increasing cultural exchange, sports dance has emerged as a valuable educational tool in Northwest China. This study investigates the current state of sports dance education in this region, examining its development, challenges, and strategies for sustainable growth. Employing questionnaires and interviews, the research highlights the positive impact of sports dance on students’ artistic literacy, physical and mental well-being, and cultural engagement. However, regional, cultural, and economic factors pose challenges to its development, including limited popularity, lack of awareness and qualified instructors, and inadequate facilities. To address these issues, this paper proposes strategies such as promoting sports dance through public awareness campaigns, increasing investment in training and infrastructure, innovating teaching methodologies, and fostering inter-regional collaboration. These findings provide valuable insights for promoting the sustainable development of sports dance education in Northwest China, ultimately enhancing its contribution to talent cultivation and regional cultural enrichment.
