Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the 7A concept (Attractions, Amenities, Accessibility, Activities, Available Packages, Ancillary Services, and Awareness) in the tourism sector on Bangka Island using a gap analysis method. The research focuses on two main destinations, namely Parai Beach Resort & Spa (Blue Tourism) and Kurau Mangrove Tourism (Green Tourism), selected due to their significant natural tourism potential but differing in terms of management and facilities. A qualitative approach was employed through in-depth inter-views with destination managers, direct observation, and descriptive analysis to explore the gaps between ideal and actual conditions. The findings reveal that Parai Beach Resort & Spa excels in beach attractions, water sports, and accommodation facilities, but still faces gaps in disability-friendly facilities, creative activity options, diversification of tour packages, and international awareness. Meanwhile, Kurau Mangrove Tourism offers strengths in nature-based ecotourism (river cruising, mangrove education, and glamping) but remains weak in sanitation facilities, local community involvement in tourism activities, and digital promotion strategies. Overall, both destinations re-quire improvements in inclusive facilities, development of creative activities involving local communities, diversification of tour packages, and global digital branding strategies. Implementing these improvements could enhance the competitiveness, sustainability, and long-term appeal of Bangka Island’s tourism to both domestic and international tourists.
