- Abstract
The digital economy refers to the economic activity that occurs when digital technology connects individuals, businesses, devices, data and operations. It can overcome the limitations of traditional economy, promote innovation, and create new jobs. This paper constructs an index system to explore the factors that affect the development of China's city-level digital economy from 2018 to 2021 from four dimensions: education level (EL), infrastructure level (IL), economic resilience (ER) and human capital (HC). The article first uses the OLS model to explore basic linear relationship, then further uses the Moran index to explore the spatial autocorrelation of the digital economy index. Finally, GWR model is used to explore the spatial heterogeneity of digital economy development. The OLS model found that these factors will indeed promote the development of the digital economy. The Moran index found that the digital economy index had strong spatial autocorrelation, and the GWR model found that there was spatial heterogeneity in the development of China's digital economy. The research in this article provides reference factors for the development of China's digital economy and the formulation of policies.
