Against the backdrop of accelerating technological disruption, shifting global economic dynamics, and increasing policy complexity, this year’s conference served as a timely forum for scholars and practitioners to explore the evolving contours of enterprise development and economic strategy from both theoretical and applied perspectives. The keynote presentations at ICEMED 2025 offered critical insights into the evolving interplay of technology, policy, and economics. Prof. Xianhua Wu (Shanghai Maritime University) examined the EU’s carbon border adjustment mechanism through a GTAP model, highlighting its impact on trade and industrial strategies. Prof. Xiongfeng Pan (Dalian University of Technology) analyzed how demographic shifts—particularly aging and low fertility—affect carbon efficiency, informing sustainability discourse. Prof. Hua Wang (Zhejiang University) compared market forecasting by large language models and human experts, advancing sentiment analysis methods. Prof. Jinhong Mi (Shanghai Maritime University) addressed the economic implications of foundation AI models, with a focus on labor, growth, and policy. Collectively, these talks enriched the conference with both theoretical depth and practical relevance. The proceedings encompass a wide range of peer-reviewed contributions across key themes including enterprise strategy, organizational behavior, industrial economics, financial management, and the integration of digital technologies in economic systems.
