Abstract

The research aims to analyze the needs of teachers and students regarding their perceptions, experiences, and obstacles in implementing the PjBL model, integrating NTT local wisdom, and utilizing information technology. A purposive sampling technique was employed involving 5 chemistry teachers and 100 students from 5 schools in cities and regencies in NTT. Data were collected through teacher interviews and a 5-scale Likert questionnaire administered to teachers and students. The questionnaire data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods, while the Miles and Huberman model was employed to analyze qualitative data from interviews. The research findings indicate that teachers have a low percentage of positive responses regarding the experience of developing assessment instruments and implementing the PjBL model, as well as identifying NTT local wisdom to be related to chemistry material. Specifically, 20% of teachers strongly disagreed, and 51.33% were neutral. The interview results support the questionnaire findings. Moreover, analysis of student questionnaires revealed that they agreed with a percentage of >67.6% for all indicator statements supporting the development of a database of themes and project assessment aspects based on NTT local wisdom for the application of the PjBL model.
