- Abstract
The cultural career of Vinh Linh Special Zone (Vietnam) from 1954 to 1975 was one of the notable highlights, closely linked to its unique geographical position - the frontline of socialist Northern Vietnam, right next to the 17th parallel, which had to endure the heavy devastation of war. In such a fierce context, Vinh Linh maintained and promoted its advanced culture in national identity, while fulfilling its historical mission of liberating the South and unifying the country. The cultural values established during the period of 1954–1975 not only reflect the distinct characteristics of Vinh Linh’s culture during the war years, but also embodied the enduring values of Vietnamese culture in the context of brutal warfare.
