Abstract

This study developed a Mini English Program (MEP) curriculum for preschool learners by integrating parental and community participation into both classroom and home learning environments. Conducted at Anuban Nakhon Ratchasima School, Thailand, the project positioned parents as co-learners who helped extend school-based English learning into authentic family and community settings. Participants included 120 kindergarten children and more than 50 parents from K2 and K3 levels. The intervention utilized SDG-oriented English learning camps organized into interactive stations emphasizing hygiene, healthy eating, and self-care, promoting bilingual communication through play, storytelling, mission-based tasks, and music. Findings show that parent–child engagement enhanced children’s confidence, participation, and spontaneous English use. Parents gained greater awareness of bilingual learning processes and became more committed to supporting language development at home. Collaboration among teachers, families, and community members helped create a cohesive and sustainable learning ecosystem. Overall, the study demonstrates that an SDG-oriented, family-centered MEP curriculum can effectively strengthen early English development, support essential life skills, and reinforce home–school partnerships. The model offers practical guidance for early childhood programs seeking to advance holistic language learning.
