- Abstract
This latah trend phenomenon is inseparable from the development of the television entertainment world. The latah trend phenomenon occurs during class learning, causing learning to be disturbed by the noisy sound of friends’ taunts in class. This study aimed to identify echolalia speech disorders using a Latah voice meter in PGSD students at Esa Unggul University. This research method uses the content analysis method. The instruments used in this study were observation sheets, interview sheets, and documentation. The research analysis model uses the Milles and Huberman model. The results of the survey include: (1) echolalia speech consists of the words “Warts” and “Chicken” in two PGSD students at Esa Unggul University. (2) Based on identifying the situation where echolalia latah appears using the latah voice meter application, including when using a cellphone, then being surprised, becoming latah. When daydreaming, then becoming latah if surprised by other people. Another situational factor is being surprised by your older sibling while enjoying watching TV so that Latah appears again. They were astonished by friends while gathering. (3) The results of the latah sound measurement on the Ekolalia latah consist of 41.36 DB and 45.30, meaning that the sound produced is still weak. Based on the criteria for the sound measurement results in the Latah application, 0 DB to 45 DB is categorized as weak. So, the latah sound produced by students will not interfere with the learning process in class because of the noise caused by latah interference.
