Abstract

The primary aim of this study was to examine the influence of transformational leadership on both innovative work behavior and intrinsic motivation, as well as to explore the mediating role of intrinsic motivation in the relationship between transformational leadership and innovative work behavior in private universities. Data were collected from 96 lecturers through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the Partial Least Squares (PLS) approach. The findings revealed that: (1) transformational leadership significantly influences innovative work behavior, (2) transformational leadership has a strong effect on intrinsic motivation, (3) intrinsic motivation significantly enhances innovative work behavior, and (4) transformational leadership indirectly affects innovative work behavior through the mediating role of intrinsic motivation in private universities.
