Abstract

With the intensification of China’s aging population, the elderly care industry has become an important development direction for the domestic insurance industry. Since entering the elderly care industry in 2007, Taikang Insurance Group has actively promoted the integration of medical care and elderly care financial services. It has deployed multiple high-end elderly care communities across the country and is committed to enhancing its leadership in the elderly care industry through innovative strategies. Although Taikang has achieved certain results in expanding its elderly care business, it is also facing increasing challenges, especially in terms of uncertainty in policies and regulations, intensified market competition and financial pressure, which pose major risks to the company’s development. This study analyzes Taikang Insurance’s business model, financial performance and industry risks, revealing the multiple challenges Taikang faces in promoting the development of the elderly care industry. Especially in terms of cash flow management, short-term debt repayment ability and investment strategy, Taikang needs to further optimize its asset structure and strengthen its sensitivity to policy changes. At the same time, as competition in the elderly care market intensifies, Taikang needs to improve its market responsiveness and service quality through technological innovation, differentiated competition and cross-industry cooperation. This article also proposes Taikang’s strategies for coping with challenges, including strengthening technological innovation, improving risk management, optimizing financial structure and enhancing internal management, so as to ensure competitiveness and sustainable development in the ever-changing market environment.
