Abstract

The application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the medical field has significantly enhanced the efficiency of disease diagnosis, health management, and drug development. However, its widespread adoption still faces multiple challenges such as technical, ethical, and resource constraints. Based on a systematic analysis of literature from 2017 to 2025, this paper reviews the current application status of AI in medical scenarios such as medical image recognition, assisted diagnosis and treatment decision-making, and health management. It points out that the core issues include data silos, algorithm bias, and insufficient trust between doctors and patients. To address these challenges, technical solutions such as federated learning and explainable AI (XAI) are proposed, and the need to improve ethical supervision and policy frameworks is emphasized. In the future, AI in healthcare will develop towards personalized precision medicine, the popularization of remote services, and the construction of smart hospitals, but it is necessary to balance technological innovation with humanistic care. This study provides systematic strategies and forward-looking suggestions for promoting the deep integration of AI and medical practice.
