- Abstract
This paper explores innovative development models for red cultural tourism empowered by digital intelligence, aiming to revitalize local economies and preserve red cultural heritage. Taking Sichuan Province as a case study—home to over 3,200 red tourism sites—the region faces intense market competition, necessitating new development pathways for its red cultural tourism. Through comparative analysis of existing models, this study proposes a novel framework centered on “Red Cultural Science Popularization—Digital Intelligence Innovation—Tourism Consumption,” encompassing the following aspects: First, establish red cultural science education centers and interactive exhibitions to enhance visitors’ understanding and engagement with red culture. Second, utilize augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies to develop immersive experiences that enrich visitor interactions. Finally, emphasize collaboration among governments, enterprises, universities, and social organizations to establish dedicated funds supporting the digital and intelligent development and promotion of red tourism projects.
