Profile Videos as a Means of Strengthening the Identity and Competitiveness of Tourism Villages: A Case Study of Padusan Village

- Abstract
This study examines the role of profile videos as a strategic medium in strengthening local identity and enhancing the competitiveness of Padusan Tourism Village. Using a qualitative approach, the researcher conducted participatory observations, in-depth interviews with stakeholders (including the village government, tourism operators, and local communities), and analysed cultural and natural documentation of Padusan Village. The study found that the video profile production, involving active community participation, successfully reveals and authentically represents the natural potential (hot springs) and cultural richness (Padusan traditions and Majapahit heritage sites) of the village. The resulting visual narrative not only strengthens residents’ sense of identity but also increases the visibility of Padusan Village in the digital realm, making it an effective branding tool that attracts tourists and strategic partners. The research implications emphasise the importance of synergy between the community, village officials, and multimedia practitioners in developing sustainable profile video content.
