- Abstract
Blended teaching mode meets the needs of vocational education reform. With the help of internet, teachers could break the limits of time and space, they can teach students English online. Whereas multi-modality will make blended teaching more effective which is also typical of “Internet plus vocational education.” In blended English class, both students and teacher often make full use of different media such as pictures, video, and audio to help understand or present language points. Nowadays, multimodality open a new window for students in English learning. It means a variety of modes to convey meaning. Such modes as voice, image and language are all different kinds of social semotics. The theory of multimodality helps promote more efficient public English class. This essay try to make a research on blended teaching mode of higher vocational public English with the perspective of multimodality.
