- Abstract
During the “Seventeen Years” period, the state advocated gender equality and encouraged women to participate in social production labor. This enabled women to “step out of the household” and gain unprecedented economic, social, and political status, greatly advancing the process of women’s liberation. At the same time, it brought about a series of changes in women's self-worth and family relationships. Within the discourse system of the “Seventeen Years,” “household labor” acquired varying interpretations aligned with official production needs but was generally devalued. This devaluation deepened with the radicalization of social rhetoric. “Household labor” intertwines issues of gender, family, and labor, persistently lurking in the depths of historical and societal transformations, manifesting in diverse forms across different periods.
