- Abstract
From the 1990s to the 2010s, the art of violin in China underwent a remarkable transformation, evolving from technical emulation to cultural consciousness. During this period, composers wielded musical notes as their brush to sketch the soul of the nation; performers employed their bows as a medium to articulate cultural sentiments; educators cultivated classrooms as fertile soil to nurture artistic heritage. Together, they propelled the nationalization of violin art, building a bridge of cultural identity that integrates Eastern and Western traditions with distinctive Chinese characteristics. This study, grounded in musical compositions, pedagogical practices, and scholarly discourses from the 1990s to the 2010s, dissects the core attributes of violin Sinicization. It examines its profound implications for cultural identity construction, offering a scholarly contribution that synthesizes creative vision and academic rigor to advance the pluralistic development of Chinese musical culture.
