- Abstract
Chinese mainstream media’s external communication plays a key role in shaping China’s international image and displaying the country’s stance and policies. This paper analyses 5011 relevant news headlines and news content of CGTN from 2017 to 2024 with ‘traditional Chinese medicine’ as the index. This paper uses ‘traditional Chinese medicine’ as the index to analyze 5011 news headlines and news content of CGTN from 2017 to 2024. It conducts LDA thematic modelling analysis to explore the external communication strategies of Chinese mainstream media and the focus of Chinese medicine cross-cultural communication research. The study shows that Chinese mainstream media CGTN stands for the national position to show the national diplomatic and political events to the international community, gradually expands the external communication strategy based on the communication of Chinese soft power and gradually explores the modernization and internationalization communication strategy of TCM culture.
