Website: https://www.iciba-soseic.com “Humanizing Tech for Sustainability: Re-Examine Research Challenges & Finding Common Ground.” The 7th International Conference on Information Technology, Engineering & Business Application (ICIBA) and the 3rd Social Science Economic Conference (SOSEIC), proudly organized by Universitas Bina Darma, were held on November 1st, 2024. These prestigious academic events took place at the Hotel Aryaduta, located in the heart of Palembang, South Sumatra, Indonesia, and successfully convened a diverse community of leading academicians, researchers, professionals, and scholars from both local and international institutions. The conferences aimed to facilitate meaningful dialogue, exchange innovative ideas, and provide a platform for presenting the latest research findings. The primary objective of the 7th ICIBA and 3rd SOSEIC was to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and discuss recent advancements and challenges across various fields. These included computer science, engineering, social sciences, business, education, communication, economics, psychology, tourism, vocational studies, cultural studies, and language. By integrating these multifaceted disciplines, the conferences sought to create a holistic understanding of how research and innovation can contribute to real-world solutions. Additionally, the event offered exceptional networking opportunities, allowing participants from academia and industry to connect, collaborate, and explore potential partnerships. Centered around the unifying theme of “Sustainable Development Goals,” the conferences encouraged critical discourse on how academic research and practical solutions can align with global efforts to achieve sustainability, equity, and resilience across sectors and communities. This year’s central theme, “Humanizing Tech for Sustainability: Re-Examining Research Challenges & Finding Common Ground,” invited participants to reflect on the human dimension of technological advancement. In an age of rapid innovation and digital transformation, the conferences emphasized the importance of developing technology that is ethical, inclusive, and responsive to societal needs. Scholars and practitioners were encouraged to rethink traditional research paradigms and address contemporary challenges with empathy, equity, and sustainability in mind. The theme called for a critical re-examination of how research is approached across disciplines and urged the academic and professional community to find common ground for collaborative action. By bridging gaps between technology and humanity, and between theory and practice, the conferences cultivated a space for forward-thinking solutions that are not only scientifically sound but also socially responsible and globally relevant. The conferences proudly presented 89 papers, with academic contributions from six countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Russia, China, Argentina, and Tajikistan. The participation of 10 local and 4 international universities underscored a collective dedication to driving change and fostering sustainable practices. Following the initial review process, 80 articles received a “second revision required” status. Of these, 15 articles were successfully revised and subsequently accepted for publication in these proceedings. This rigorous process involved 15 reviewers who meticulously evaluated all articles using a blind review method. These conferences exemplify the power of collaboration and knowledge exchange in shaping a better future. The international conferences were conducted smoothly and successfully. We extend our sincere gratitude to the esteemed speakers Prof. Valerii L. Muzykant from the Department of Mass Communications, RUDN University (Russia), Prof. Frank Fei Guo from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (China), Prof. Nurly Gofar from the Department of Civil Engineering, Universitas Bina Darma (Indonesia), Dr. Mohamad Taha Ijab from the Institute of Visual Informatics (IVI), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (Malaysia), Dr. Ruhana Binti Padzil from Universiti Malaya (Malaysia). We are also thankful to our sponsors for their unwavering support in organizing this event. Special thanks are due to Prof. Sunda Ariana, the Rector of Universitas Bina Darma. Finally, we express our profound gratitude to the Organizing Committee, Scientific Committee, Moderators, Presenters, and all participants whose dedication contributed immensely to the conferences’ success.
