- Abstract
AI has brought about enormous changes in the decision-making process at the workplace since it allows data-driven insights and predictive analytics. Nevertheless, typical AI systems do not have emotional intelligence (EQ), which restricts their efficacy in multi-faceted human-centered situations. This paper discusses the application of EQ in AI systems to facilitate workplace decision-making, especially in Human Resource Management (HRM). The research, based on a mixed-method design that involves survey results from HR professionals and an EQ-enabled AI prototype model, reveals that EQ-based AI systems can positively influence decision accuracy, employee engagement, and organisational performance. The results emphasize that AI based on EQ not only improves rational decision-making but also incorporates empathy, ethical factors, and understanding of contexts. The paper adds to the developing sphere of human-centric AI and offers practical suggestions to organisations aiming to streamline workplace decision-making.
