Abstract

Saliva plays a crucial role in forensic work mostly because it is easy to collect and packed with DNA. But the traditional methods for extracting DNA takes time and not always gives the proper result. This review focuses on some new nanotechnological methods that make extraction of DNA from saliva faster and cleaner. Nanotechnological methods compares traditional methods and commercial kits, it showing how these newer approaches boost yield, purity, and speed. Magnetic nanoparticles possess a high surface area, respond rapidly to magnetic fields, and exhibit strong affinity for DNA molecules. The application of nanotechnology in this context is not merely theoretical; it provides practical benefits by enhancing the speed and accuracy of DNA analysis in forensic investigations. Furthermore, these advancements are achieved in a cost-effective manner.
