- Abstract
The stigma of male usurpers circulating in the community is that most perpetrators have affairs with other people’s husbands because they are considered to have motives as a way to enrich themselves and exploit men to meet the economic needs of the perpetrators or just to fulfill their lifestyle. In society’s view, the usurper is the party responsible for the destruction of one’s household. In this study, the author wants to analyze how the homewrecker perpetrator views the stigma of being a homewrecker. This qualitative research was conducted in Makassar city and observed social media. The participants who participated in this study were 5 homewreckers who were willing to share their stories. Data collection was carried out using in-depth interview techniques and observation through social media. The results showed that homewrecker actions are not based on long-term planning or intentions, but are a response to situations that may occur. Nevertheless, these actions still carry significant social, moral and psychological consequences.
