Abstract

The collection of data on how tourism students have been affected in the context of their education due to recent local and global changes (such as COVID-19, Kahramanmaraş earthquakes, etc.) will provide significant contributions to future educational planning. The main objective of this study is to reveal the impact of academic motivation, academic satisfaction, and student engagement on the career intentions of tourism students. In line with this goal, a survey was administered to students of the Faculty of Tourism at Akdeniz University. Academic Motivation, Academic Satisfaction, Student Engagement, and Future Career Intention scales were used to collect data. The data obtained through the survey were analyzed and interpreted using the SPSS statistical data analysis software. In addition to descriptive statistics, parametric tests were applied in the data analysis. As a result of the analysis, differences were detected between the research variables and demographic variables. It was determined that the research variables were positively related to each other and that academic motivation, academic satisfaction and student participation positively affected future career intentions. It is believed that the results of the analysis will contribute to the relevant literature.
