- Abstract
The ongoing global aging trend poses dual challenges to the physical and mental health of older adults. This study aims to examine the impact of community aquatic activities on the mental health and social connections of older adults. Through administering surveys to 200 participants, conducting data analysis, and performing in-depth interviews, the findings indicate that regular participation in aquatic exercise can improve social interactions, reduce loneliness and depressive symptoms, and enhance life satisfaction. In addition, community support plays a critical role in facilitating the participation of older adults in aquatic activities. These results provide both a theoretical basis and practical implications for the formulation of community health policies addressing the challenges of an aging society.
