- Abstract
This study, based on the ‘Family-Community Collaborative Network Model’ theoretical framework and China’s latest 2025 population data, systematically explores the synergistic mechanisms of family and community in a longevity society. It finds that under the dual pressures of population decline and deepening aging, traditional family-based elderly care functions are severely weakened, while communities are evolving from a ‘supplementary role’ to a ‘key hub’ supporting home-based care. Families act as the ‘service nucleus,’ providing emotional and life support, whereas communities function as ‘resource integration platforms,’ fulfilling roles through multi-layered networks. This paper analyzes current dilemmas in family-community support systems and proposes policy recommendations for building an age-friendly longevity ecosystem.
