- Abstract
As intelligent transportation continues to advance dramatically, the port competition situation is becoming increasingly complex and changeable. As an important shipping hub, the Pearl River Delta Port Group’s coordinated development and competitiveness promotion are very important. To enhance the comprehensive competitiveness of ports in the Pearl River Delta, this paper constructs an index system for evaluating the competitiveness of intelligent port construction, production and operation ability, port infrastructure, and port hinterland support, and quantitatively evaluates the competitiveness of major ports in the Pearl River Delta by using the entropy weight-TOPSIS method. According to the evaluation results, this paper puts forward some measures to heighten the competitive capabilities of ports in the Pearl River Delta, to lay the groundwork for decision–making for promoting the optimal allocation of resources and reaching the harmonious development of ports in the Pearl River Delta.
