- Abstract
The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has had a profound impact on the field of education, particularly posing new challenges and demands on the core educational role of teachers. Local Application-Oriented Universities (LAOUs), which aim to cultivate high-quality applied talents, have their teachers’ teaching abilities directly related to the quality of talent cultivation. How to facilitate teachers’ adaptation to the AI-driven educational transformation, enhance their pedagogical competencies, and conduct teaching activities effectively has emerged as a critical issue demanding immediate resolution. From the perspective of AI empowerment, this study investigates the core requirements and enhancement pathways for teaching competencies among faculty in LAOUs. It proposes a four-dimensional improvement framework of “technical training; resource co-construction; school-enterprise collaboration; data-driven”, providing theoretical and practical references for the development of teachers’ teaching abilities in local colleges.
