- Abstract
As a crucial component of China’s modernization, agricultural modernization holds significant importance. This study examines the role of agricultural capital in driving agricultural, rural, and farmer development, with a focus on how it impacts farmers’ operating income. By analyzing theoretical frameworks and empirical data, the research explores the relationship between agricultural capital and farmer income, as well as how different groups’ control over capital shapes agricultural evolution. Findings suggest that farmers are increasingly marginalized in the agricultural value chain during modernization. The study concludes with policy recommendations, including strengthening legal frameworks and fostering a new generation of professional farmers to enhance their socioeconomic standing.
