The Impact of G60 Science and Innovation Corridor Construction on the Digital Transformation of Foreign Trade Enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta

- Abstract
With the rapid development of the digital economy, digital transformation has become a key strategy for China’s foreign trade enterprises to address uncertainties in the international market and enhance their global competitiveness. As a national-level regional collaborative innovation platform, the Yangtze River Delta G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor serves as a key tool for foreign trade enterprises to accelerate their digital transformation. This study selects A-share-listed foreign trade enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region from 2013 to 2023, constructs a multi-period difference-in-differences model, and evaluates the impact of the G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor initiative on the digital transformation of foreign trade enterprises. Research has found that the G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor significantly promotes the digital transformation of foreign trade enterprises. Compared to the control group, the treatment group achieves a 0.504% increase in the level of digital transformation. Heterogeneity analysis indicates that the impact is more pronounced in low-competition industries and among non-port and shipping enterprises. This study expands the research of the G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor from the perspective of individual enterprises, providing empirical evidence to help the government optimize the layout of these corridors and precisely support the high-quality digital transformation of foreign trade enterprises.
