- Abstract
This study aims to analyze the factors influencing economic agglomeration in the culinary industry on Madura Island. The variables examined include raw material accessibility, labor skills, production costs, market reach, and rental costs. The study also assesses the contribution of each factor to the formation of traditional culinary industry clusters. A quantitative method was employed using surveys and questionnaires to collect primary data from culinary entrepreneurs in Bangkalan, Sampang, Pamekasan, and Sumenep. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with natural log transformation to estimate the influence of each variable on agglomeration levels. The results indicate that raw material accessibility, labor skills, production costs, and rental costs significantly affect culinary industry agglomeration. Production costs have a negative effect, while the other variables have a positive effect. Market reach, however, does not have a statistically significant impact. These findings highlight the importance of cost efficiency and local infrastructure support in agglomeration formation, while market expansion remains a secondary consideration in the local Madurese context.
