Abstract

The study of illocutionary speech acts underlines this study. Illocutionary speech acts are placed as utterances that have a communicative function to speech partners, the communicative function is intended to convey meaning. Illocutionary speech acts have several forms, such as assertive, expressive, directive, commissive, and declarative. The purpose of this research is to know and describe the form and function of the types of illocutionary speech acts in the most film comedy horror in Indonesia, specifically Agak Laen. This research is designed with descriptive qualitative method that shows the evidence of illocutionary speech acts and explains them based on the facts that exist in accordance with the explanation so that it can produce a description that is what it is. The theory of speech acts applied according to Austin’s is then refined by Searle. The purpose of this study is to develop the theory of language development by examining the form of illocutionary speech acts in the learning object to be studied. This research is expected to broaden the reader’s insight into illocutionary speech acts and classify the functions of illocutionary speech acts in the film Agak Laen.
