- Abstract
Intellectual property rights have an important role in Indonesia, this can be studied from economic, political, legal and human rights aspects. What this research discusses is pertaining to the use of music and/or cover songs, which is a human rights violation. It might be stopped if it violates the rules for the use of music or cover songs in YouTube videos. Human rights are violated when cover songs and/or music are used, and it is obvious that using cover songs and/or music in content without authorization is a breach of such rights. Along with breaking Government Regulation No. 56 of 2021 regarding Song/and/or Music Royalties, as well as the Joint Regulation No. 14 of 2015 and No. 26 of 2016 of the Ministers of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia and Communication and Information regarding Closure of Content and/or Access Rights for Use of Violations of Copyright and/or Related Rights in Electronic Systems, it has also flagrantly violated Article 27 of the United Nations Charter, which deals with human rights.
