Abstract

This research discusses the implications for strengthening the local economy of the legal protection of the Geographical Indication of Robusta Semendo Coffee in Muara Enim Regency, Indonesia. The findings demonstrate that by preserving the distinctiveness and caliber of the coffee product, the registration of the Geographical Indication of Robusta Semendo Coffee has benefited the local economy. In order to ensure that Geographical Indications are effectively protected by law, the local government must make significant efforts to promote the product, market it, and oversee the clarity code. It is anticipated that this legislative protection would raise public awareness of the significance of preserving the quality of coffee goods, boosting local communities’ welfare and revenue. The regional economy benefits greatly from the legal protection of Geographical Indications of Robusta Semendo Coffee.a
