- Abstract
The relationship between a doctor and a patient is built on acceptance and service, forming a contractual relationship to find the best solution for the patient’s recovery. This study explores the legal updates in doctor-patient relationship patterns under Law No. 17 of 2023, replacing the previous Law No. 36 of 2009 concerning Health. As normative legal research, it relies on secondary data, focusing on legal norms outlined in the new law. The findings indicate a shift from trust-based to legal relationships grounded in consent or agreement. This agreement is reciprocal, creating rights and obligations for both parties. The change emphasizes the importance of clear communication and mutual understanding in medical services. By highlighting this transformation, the research underscores the evolving legal framework in healthcare, which seeks to balance professional responsibilities with patient rights under the updated legislation.
