Abstract

In life, a Mother in the Banjar people often gives advice, good in a way, direct or no. Advise this own objective for kindness to his children in say and act. In the middle Spirit formation character for generating young, very important for preserving diverse aspect supporters formation character, said, one of them, through moral teachings contained in advice. The problem study is a pragmatic imperative form of advice, Mother in the Banjar language, which contains speech advice, ethnopragmatic life, and values. What only exists in the advice of Mother in the Banjar language is speech advice and life. Data collection was carried out from January to June 2025 in Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan: a type study, a descriptive qualitative method study, interviews, and literature studies. The steps for collecting data are: observation, data collection, data sorting, analysis, presentation, and conclusions. Approach ethnography. Research results that are a pragmatic imperative form of advice, Mother in the Banjar language, which contains speech advice covering life’s imperative prohibitions. As for the existing ethnopragmatic values in advice Mother in the Banjar language, which contains speech advice for life, namely covering ethics, religion, caution, sincerity, mutual respect, gratitude, discipline, cleanliness, and low heart. Conclusion: Advise Mother in the Banjar language to give useful moral teachings for the formation of a national character.
