- Abstract
Zakat is one of the pillars of Islam; it is not only a spiritual act of worship but also has significant economic and social implications. Zakat is a Sharia financial instrument crucial in wealth redistribution and poverty alleviation. This study aims to examine how mathematical calculations in Zakat Mal and Zakat Fitrah are used to support community economic empowerment programs. The research employed a qualitative analytical approach with a literature review of various reference sources, including leading articles, Zakat institutions, interviews, documentation, and previous studies. The results indicate that accurate mathematical calculations can support the optimization of Zakat management, ensuring accuracy in distribution, efficiency in fund management, and providing an analytical basis for economic empowerment planning. The close relationship between the accuracy of Zakat calculations and the effectiveness of empowerment programs demonstrates that mathematics is not merely a tool but a crucial pillar in modern Zakat management. This study concludes that integrating mathematical calculation methods into Zakat Mal and Zakat Fitrah has strategic potential to strengthen the role of Zakat as a pillar of the Islamic economy in Indonesia.
