- Abstract
There is pedestrian bridge on the east side of the City Square to facilitate pedestrian crossing over Amir Mahmud Street. The purpose of this study is (1) to assess the level of service of the pedestrian bridge, (2) to identify appropriate types of pedestrian crossing, and (3) to assess the technical compliance of pedestrian bridge. The method used to calculate the level of service refers to the Highway Capacity Manual. Meanwhile, the selection of the type of pedestrian bridge and the technical compliance assessment refer to the pedestrian facility guidelines. The analysis results show that the level of service for four indicators, i.e. space indicator, flow indicator, speed indicator, and capacity indicator were C, A, A, and A, respectively. In addition, the most suitable type of pedestrian crossing is pelican cross with a refuge island. Meanwhile, based on the analysis of the technical compliance of the existing pedestrian bridge, only 30% of the parameters meet the technical requirements. Most of the non-compliant aspects are related to the absence of facilities for persons with disabilities. In general, the pedestrian bridge at Cimahi City Square is not accessible to vulnerable groups such as persons with disabilities, children, and the elderly.
