Abstract

Productive waqf encompasses not only financial dimensions but also significantly impacts the social milieu, as the earned revenues are allocated to address many community necessities, including education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the significance of productive waqf is amplified to address the pressing needs of the community, foster solidarity networks, and bolster social stability through sustained social aid. Efficient waqf management can substantially enhance community welfare by guaranteeing that optimized waqf assets positively affect beneficiaries. In light of the fact that this research is carried out in a descriptive and analytical manner, using an empirical juridical method, the data that are utilized in this research are both primary and secondary data. In order to gather primary data, the researcher will conduct interviews with the subjects that have been selected by the researcher, which will be the authorized agency or institution. Secondary data, on the other hand, will be gained from literature, rules and regulations, and other relevant documents. The issue at hand pertains to the urgency and execution of productive waqf across different nations, as well as the various manifestations of productive waqf. The outcome indicates that the evolution of waqf within the social context is not confined solely to Islamic nations or those with a predominantly Muslim populace. In the United States, a nation where the Muslim population remains a minority, there exists the potential for the productive development of the existing waqf. In order to enhance waqf assets, a range of initiatives is implemented that significantly contribute to the growth of these assets. Initiatives concerning the advancement and application of waqf assets garner substantial backing from a multitude of stakeholders. This undoubtedly represents a significant factor contributing to the state’s efficacy in administering waqf within the social context.
