- Abstract
One of the applications of solar energy is through Solar Power Plants. Tadulako University is committed to independently implementing a Solar Power Plants. One of the efforts includes utilizing vast land areas as interconnected Solar Power Plants fields, often referred to as on-grid or grid-connected Solar Power Plants. The performance of solar panels in generating electrical energy depends on various factors. The tilt angle is a crucial factor as it significantly impacts solar panel performance. The correct tilt angle allows the panels to capture maximum solar radiation while minimizing the accumulation of dirt on the surface. In Indonesia, the tilt angle for solar panels typically ranges from 6° to 11°. However, this study aims to critically evaluate the optimal tilt angle using several methods. The methods applied include mathematical calculations and simulations using PVsyst software. This approach is used to determine the optimal tilt angle for constructing a 5 MW on-grid Solar Power Plants at Tadulako University.
