- Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the behavior of religious moderation at Politeknik Negeri Bali (PNB), a non-religious institution of higher education in Bali. The diversity of religions, ethnicities, and cultures within PNB academic community has the potential for conflict, so religious moderation is necessary to foster tolerance toward these differences. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and literature review. The results of the study indicate that PNB has implemented the concept of religious moderation by fostering tolerance among academics of various religions, ethnicities, and cultures, and by providing worship facilities for minority academics. Students who are religious minorities at PNB have never experienced discrimination from other students, lecturers, or staff. Students are committed to respecting Balinese culture as the local culture by following the rules of wearing traditional Balinese clothing on Thursdays, as well as during Hindu holidays such as Purnama and Tilem. Behavior reflecting religious moderation supports the green ethics policy at Bali State Polytechnic.
