- Abstract
Technological advancements in the modern era have reached an advanced stage, aiming to meet human needs by offering ease and comfort in daily life. The rapid pace of technological development has led to significant transformations and shifts across various sectors, includes the education field. In higher education, there has been a paradigm shift from conventional to transformation approaches. This transition aligns with one of the strategic directions of the Indonesian Government in addressing five key national challenges, one of which is the disruption caused by artificial intelligence (AI). The evolution of AI continues to progress through competitive innovation, with platforms such as ChatGPT, DeepSeek, and Gemini offering increasingly sophisticated capabilities. The phenomenon of the “disruption being disrupted” illustrates a situation where early innovators, once dominant in the market, are now compelled to adapt to the very changes they initiated. In the context of AI, disruption extends beyond the corporate level, affecting professions and industries as a whole. The integration of AI across various domains has fundamentally transformed traditional working models, necessitating the development of new competencies among professionals to remain relevant in a rapidly changing landscape. This study aims to explore which AI platform, ChatGPT, Deep Seek, or Gemini, is most preferred by students in higher education. Furthermore, it seeks to examine the reasons for their selection, particularly in the context of learning processes within academic environments using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Special attention is given to the perceived ability of these AI tools to provide verifiable and reliable outputs that support educational objectives.
