It is with great pleasure that we present the proceedings of the International Conference on Sustainable Green Tourism Applied Science - Social Applied Science (ICoSTAS-SAS) 2026, held on October 7, 2026, in Bali, Indonesia. Hosted by Politeknik Negeri Bali, this conference provides an international platform for scholars, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to share and discuss interdisciplinary research in social applied sciences that contributes to sustainable tourism, community empowerment, business innovation, education, governance, culture, and environmental responsibility.

The scope of ICoSTAS-SAS 2026 covers Green Management and Business Administration, Sustainable Tourism Culture and Environment-Based Studies, Green Accounting and Taxing, Digital Business, Management and Society, E-learning and Education, Community-Based Sustainable Development, Social Innovation and Green Entrepreneurship, Sustainable Governance and Policy Innovation, Green Ethics and Environmental Justice, Social Culture and Linguistic Studies, and Business Ethics and Law.

The papers included in this proceeding demonstrate the broad contribution of social applied sciences to sustainable development and green tourism. Several studies focus on sustainable tourism, cultural interpretation, local wisdom, heritage tourism, spiritual tourism, culinary tourism, tourism village governance, tourist guides, hotel industry practices, and the development of community-based tourism models. These works reflect the importance of culture, community participation, and local identity in strengthening sustainable tourism practices.

This proceeding also presents significant contributions in business, accounting, taxation, finance, and governance. The accepted papers discuss green accounting, carbon emission disclosure, tax digitalization, cooperative fiscal efficiency, financial governance, credit risk, financial literacy, ESG disclosure, village credit institutions, and the implementation of financial accounting standards for private entities and MSMEs. These studies show how accountability, transparency, digital transformation, and responsible governance can support sustainable institutions and business practices.

In the areas of education, language, communication, and digital learning, the proceeding includes studies on BIPA learning, Mandarin tone accuracy, task-based learning, English for MICE and Event learning, scientific writing, generative AI in language teaching, AI-powered language learning, and sustainable tourism communication. These papers highlight the role of education, language, and communication in supporting vocational competence, tourism services, and intercultural understanding.

The proceeding also includes research on MSMEs, entrepreneurship, export readiness, digital literacy, product innovation, digital archiving, content marketing, value chains, local agro-products, and shell-waste crafts. These contributions emphasize the importance of empowering local communities and small enterprises to participate in sustainable economic development. In addition, studies on legal protection, whistleblowing systems, environmental justice, green ethics, and policy implementation further enrich the discussion on sustainable governance and social responsibility.

In line with the conference theme, “Advancing Global Sustainability Through Local Wisdom and Green Innovation,” ICoSTAS-SAS 2026 highlights the importance of local knowledge, social innovation, institutional collaboration, and community-based action. The contributions in this proceeding show that sustainable green tourism is not only driven by technology and infrastructure, but also by culture, governance, education, ethics, entrepreneurship, and social participation.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all authors, reviewers, committee members, and participants whose valuable contributions made this conference and proceeding possible. We hope that the research presented in ICoSTAS-SAS 2026 will provide meaningful references for future studies, policy development, community empowerment, and sustainable tourism practices.
