Abstract

As a historical imprint of urban industrial development, old industrial plant areas carry rich industrial culture and historical value, and their protection and renewal are important propositions for sustainable urban development. The rapid development of information technology and intelligent technology has brought new opportunities and challenges for the transformation and reuse of old industrial plants. How to use digital technology to reshape the functions and enhance the value of old industrial plants has become a key issue for urban renewal and sustainable development.

As witnesses of urban development, the transformation of industrial buildings has shifted from single function reconstruction to diverse goals of technological empowerment, cultural activation, and low-carbon sustainability. As the first industrial heritage intelligent transformation park project in Northeast China, Dalian Bingshan Huigu has explored innovative paradigms for the transformation of old industrial plant areas and urban renewal through technologies such as intelligent navigation, virtual reality, and digital modeling, including record detection, digital display experience, cultural and creative product development, smart industry integration and transformation, spatial reshaping, and community integration. It has successfully transformed from a traditional industrial plant area to a multifunctional innovation park. In depth research on digital transformation and reuse strategies has important reference significance for promoting the modernization transformation of other old industrial plants.
