Abstract

The ESG concept focuses on sustainable development and the achievement of long-term enterprises’ long-term value, which is highly consistent with the development of the new electricity system and the “dual carbon” strategic goals. From an ESG perspective, it is extremely crucial and necessary to establish a performance evaluation system for electric power enterprises under the new electricity system. Firstly, the relevant literature on ESG and corporate performance was systematically reviewed. Based on the sustainable development theory, stakeholder theory, and the triple bottom line theory, the factors influencing corporate performance were summarized. Secondly, the entropy weight method and the grey relational analysis were used to construct a performance evaluation system for electric power enterprises from an ESG perspective. Finally, the constructed performance evaluation index system was verified through case analysis. This research can not only enrich the theoretical system of performance evaluation but also provide assistance for the specific performance evaluation of electric power enterprises.
