- Abstract
Biodiversity conservation involves protecting the Earth’s biological richness such as ecosystems, species, and genetic variability to make sure the long-term stability of ecological systems and the resources on which human societies depend. Nature-based Solutions also referred as NbS, which rely on organic processes and ecosystem functions, have emerged as promising methods for discussing biodiversity loss, climate change, and environmental degradation. This paper examines major forms of NbS including habitat restoration, protected area development, sustainable practices, and urban ecological integration and discusses their ecological, social, and economic benefits. Additionally, the challenges associated with NbS, such as ecological oversimplification, land-use conflicts, and risks of greenwashing, are critically analysed. Through selected case studies, it highlights both the transformative potential and the limitations of implementing NbS. Ensuring effective NbS requires ecological understanding, community participation, and long-term policy support.
