- Abstract
The document delineates the primary domains and recent advancements in exploring the economic insights of green space in urban areas within environmental economics while suggesting potential avenues for future research. The paper aims to achieve three specific objectives: 1) To explore how urban green spaces are currently being evaluated in terms of their economic value, 2) To analyze the influential journal, author, and country in the specific domain, 3) To identify the prevalent theme within the research field that capture the attention of other researchers and scholars. The investigation involved the examination of 265 papers sourced from the Scopus databases, spanning the period from 1992 to 2023, through bibliometric analysis. The methodology encompassed selecting, scrutinizing, and categorizing these papers across various dimensions, such as influential authors, journals, countries, co-citations, etc. Also, three principal themes have surfaced as a result of the analysis. The work furnishes researchers and scholars with valuable insights that can catalyze their exploration of fresh perspectives within green infrastructure in urban areas and the research in the context of sustainable economics. Moreover, it equips them with the knowledge to develop innovative strategies, models, and frameworks to amplify economic valuation.
