- Abstract
Indonesia faces the challenge of improving food security and reforming a more sustainable food system, although some policies jeopardize the ecosystem, particularly the forest ecosystem. Therefore, more locally-rooted initiatives like customary practices are required, and food security can be strengthened through Tembawang Agroforestry. However, limited studies show the connection between Tembawang and food security or sustainable food systems. This study aims to bridge this knowledge gap by exploring the existing Tembawang agroforestry in West Kalimantan. Relevant data were collected through stakeholder interviews, field observations, and literature review. However, it is important to consider policies to improve its benefits in the future.
