- Abstract
The issues of power theft and gas leakage will never end, and this remains a problem for both residential and industrial consumers. The majority of current systems that monitor power and gas consumption are manual, or use practical devices that separately monitor gas and electricity that pose constraints due to inefficiencies in the systems and access times. This project will generate a smart and technology-based IoT energy management system that can monitor electricity, gas leakage, and automatically bill users. Current operational sensors and current readings would inform the electricity usage, and the smarts to monitor electricity usage would help perceive possible theft. Rather than simply detecting bypass and comparing abnormal total measurements, we could observe how much a consumer has misused and, over time, prevent unauthorized consumption. Gas sensors can also see when there are high levels of hazardous gas in your home or business and send alerts via call or text, as well as initiate the system’s safety protocols, such as triggering alarms or ventilation processes. Data will be pulled through the smart sensors to a cloud dashboard, and utility providers will have access to real-time information. The system will also work automatically to allow for billing to be calculated automatically based on compliance with usage. Providing a cost-effective and tangible integration to improve safety and reduce loss with improved energy management and consumer transparency.
